Here are some fun facts about one of our newest Laser Pegs employees!

We have an amazing team of people here at Laser Pegs who are constantly working hard to create the best possible products for your family to enjoy. We are also lucky enough to bring new people onto our team all the time who are truly passionate and enthusiastic about our one-of-a-kind products.

Here is a Laser Pegs Employee Profile on one of our new 3D Graphic Designers and Animators, Rob Ross:

RobRoss1. What was it that attracted to you to Laser Pegs and made you want to join the team?

What instantly drew me to Laser Pegs is the appeal. I mean what isn’t to love? Simply building a race car or a spaceship with a construction kit is exciting enough on its own, but then you get to light it up! I think it is brilliant. For me personally, there is also an element of nostalgia that comes with Laser Pegs. Having grown up with other popular products like Lite-Brite®, Lego®, and K’NEX®, I have to say it is so refreshing to see such an original and unique product. Like I said, it’s all about the appeal and the lasting appeal of Laser Pegs is undeniable. The possibilities are endless! I am incredibly honored and proud to be a part of the Laser Pegs team. This job is truly a dream come true!

2. What will you be doing in your role as a 3D Graphic Designer and Animator? Is there anything about the job you are most looking forward to?

As a 3D Designer and Animator, it will be my job to take the physical Laser Pegs models created by our other designers and rebuild them using 3D software on a computer. From that point, we will be able to use those 3D models in several ways; we will use them to produce photo realistic images for store packaging and product images for our online shop, we will also be using those models for our construction manuals, and using them for my favorite part of the job―animation.

Coming from an animation background, the most exciting part of my job will be taking the 3D models we create and animating them for television and internet purposes. I love animation! It has always been my dream to grow up and be an animator, to make drawings and characters come to life, and most importantly to make people happy. Well, I became an animator, now I’m just working on the growing up part.

3. What is your favorite toy or kit made by Laser Pegs?

While I love every model I have seen so far, I have to say that what I am most in love with right now is something that we are working on behind the scenes. All I can say for now is stay tuned…it’s going to be AMAZING!

4. What was your favorite toy to play with as a child?

I can remember playing with all sorts of different toys and video games when I was young; action figures, construction kits, etc. You name it, I played with it. Despite all the fun times I had with those things, my absolute favorite thing to do when I was young was draw. I remember filling up sketchbooks with all kinds of funny and weird things, but the one thing I always had was the creative freedom to create whatever I could imagine.

5. If you could make any animal or figure into a Laser Pegs model, what would you most like to create?

I grew up Disney® and I admittedly love everything Disney®. Their animated movies are basically what inspired me at a young age to want to be an animator in the first place. If there was anything I would love to see in the style of Laser Pegs, it would definitely have to be Disney® characters.

6. What is a fun fact about yourself that you think Laser Pegs fans would be interested to know?

One of my most favorite things to do in my spare time is carpentry. I love working with wood, and I always enjoy a challenge and an adventure. I have construction kits like Laser Pegs to thank for that because I truly believe that it was building and constructing as a child that has given me the ability to build so well as an adult, just using different pieces and tools. I think it’s things like this that truly speak volumes of the importance and overwhelming benefits of building with construction kits, like Laser Pegs, from a young age. The fun factor speaks for itself, but what it does for children behind the scenes, so to speak, is immeasurable!
