A brief overview of our highlights and exciting moments at 2013’s Toy Fair.
If you are a fan of toys, whether it is playing with them, creating them or simply admiring all of the amazingly fun gadgets and gizmos that are available to kids nowadays, then there is perhaps no better place for you than Toy Fair.
This magical, awe-inspiring international toy event takes place on the West Side of midtown Manhattan just once a year and attracts nearly 30,000 attendees, making it the largest toy conference in the Western hemisphere! And while this large land of toys is not available to children (no admittance to anyone under the age of 18), the hundreds of thousands of square feet dedicated to arts and crafts, action figures, board games, dolls and more is enough to make any attendee feel like a kid again.
In order to gain admittance to this one-a-year event, you must be a member of the toy industry. In fact, the event brings together more than 1,000 toy distributors, manufacturers, importers and sales agents from around the world who are interested in showcasing their toy and entertainment products.
And, as for the types of toys and games that you can find at Toy Fair, your imagination is the limit. From classic toys such as games and puzzles, to interactive entertainment such as construction toys and games that you can access online or on a mobile device, some of the biggest names in the toy industry all find themselves under one roof each year at this important event.
This year, for Toy Fair 2013, Laser Pegs was lucky enough to be invited to exhibit for our third year in a row at this great event. When we were first invited to showcase our light up Laser Pegs three years ago, we had only been on the market for just three months before our first show kicked off. Now, just three years later, it is great to head back to one of the largest toy fairs in the world and see other familiar names and faces within the industry that have helped us grow or have made us better through the years.
Given that Toy Fair is the second largest toy event in the world, it was a great opportunity for Laser Pegs to showcase some of our fan favorite toys, along with some upcoming kits that we have in the works for 2013.
One of the show highlights for us was showcasing our Laser Pegs dragon, which honored the Chinese for their dedication of producing the most toys in the last decade. The dragon was 15 feet long and ten feet high. The CEO of Lego America even came up to our team to express his awe over the dragon. Jon Capriola, our CEO, even said it was the highlight of his career!
We want to thank all of our fans and followers who helped make our appearance at Toy Fair 2013 possible. We couldn’t have done it without you. Stay tuned for some more exciting events and announcements coming throughout this year!
